This week we bring you piano music recorded in 1953 and 1955 by the brilliant French musician and composer, Yves Nat. A reluctant, if much-loved live performer, Nat retired from the concert stage in 1937, but late in life was captured in a number of superb studio recordings, including these.
This release covers his complete 1950s recordings of Brahms and Schubert, and are well worth your attention. Nat's approach was to work for the music, rather than have the music work for him, and the results are superb - especially now remastered with Pristine's Ambient Stereo XR system.
We also celebrate the birthday of a Swedish legend, tenor Jussi Björling, with a 10% automatic discount on all his recordings available at Pristine.
