20th Birthday Special: Rodzinski's Shostakovich Premiere

This week we celebrate Pristine's 20th birthday! All week long, until Friday 28 February, there's an automatic 20% discount on everything on our website, from our shortest MP3s to our complete digital collections - it's our biggest sale ever!

We are also celebrating our 1200th release this week, with a world premiere release of a (western) world premiere performance: Rodzinski's performance of Shostakovich's Eighth Symphony with the Philharmonic-Symphony Orchestra of New York!

From a brilliantly-preserved live CBS broadcast from Carnegie Hall on 2 April 1944, and restored to stunning effect, this was the first performance of the 8th Symphony outside the USSR, and it was a storming performance to bring the house down. Never previously issued, a 20th century classic and an essential addition to every collection.
